How expense tracking works in Telegram
Galka is a bot in Telegram, not a spreadsheet and not a separate app. You type or dictate a purchase in chat. She parses the phrase with rules: clear lines save at once, unclear ones show a draft. The journal lives with that chat: one chat, one ledger.
What she pulls from a phrase
From an ordinary message Galka takes amount and currency. Category comes from words like lunch, taxi, groceries; without a hook she offers other. Pocket comes from the phrase (from the card, cash) or your usual spend account. Nothing invisible lands in the journal: if it is unclear, she asks.
Spends and pay-ins in one journal
“Taxi home 340 rubles” is a spend. “Got paid 40,000” is income. Both go into the same journal when money shows in the phrase. A joke about spending with no amount never becomes a row.
Text and voice use the same parse
Type or send a voice note in Telegram and the parse is the same. Voice always asks. Clear text goes into the journal without a button. This website does not use your microphone: voice lives in Telegram.
A long list in one message
“Breakfast 240, taxi 180, dinner 890 from the card” or “breakfast 240 baht today, then a taxi 180, all from the card” splits into rows and categories. Your whole day can be one message. A list without a clear amount on a line waits for a yes before saving.
Direct chat and a group
In a DM, a clear spend with an amount saves at once. In a group without a call-out she picks up only a spend with amount and currency in the phrase. Otherwise you need a call-out, a mention, or a reply to her so idle talk without money stays out of the journal.
Fixing a row
Before “Record it?” the journal is empty: type the phrase again. After a save, cancel is a reversal and a fix is a correction. To wipe the chat data, write “forget me” and confirm that step separately.
What you can look at later
Nest and pocket balances, a day limit, goals, recurring payments, reminders, a forecast from known plans, a “where it went” report and search by phrase. This is not a market feed and not a promise of a perfect budget: it is the journal of your sentences, including those Galka saved without a button.
How chat differs from a spreadsheet
In a spreadsheet you lay out columns yourself. In chat you speak like to a friend and check the parse when Galka asks. No separate app to install: Telegram is already open.
Where she will not guess
No amount, no journal offer. Junk code like xyz goes to RUB without asking: a parsing limit, not a promise to clarify every code. A noisy voice note with no digits is better retyped. Group chatter without a call-out and without a clear spend does not become a ledger line.

Is this a spreadsheet?
