“Record it?” catches some mistakes and misses others
Confirm is a brake, not armour. Below — what it stops and what stays on you.
A brake, not armor. And sometimes there is no brake.
Method
Voice, weak parse, and a huge amount — it asks. A clear “coffee 80” saves at once; junk like “xxxzy 200” — it asks. Not absolute protection.
Wrong number on voice
Voice is always in confirmation. Heard 120 instead of 12 — do not tap “Record it”, write in text. This is the layer that catches the voice digit before the ledger.
Wrong currency
If the code is known and landed wrong in the draft — decline and a new phrase. If the code is unknown, the 2026-08-26 lab showed “xyz” becomes RUB without a question. Confirmation does not save you here if it was never asked.
Expense or income
A bare “500” — a question whether it is expense or income; no ledger yet. That is not a “Record it?” button. Do not confuse them.
Two spends in one phrase
A shopping list goes to confirmation as a package. A tail that did not become a spend must be visible in the parse, or the person confirms junk together with coffee.
Accidental voice
Voice always asks. The ledger does not move until there is a “yes”. If voice was not parsed — the treasury is intact.
Repeated message
Two identical text “coffee 80” in a row — two entries if both passed as a clear expense. Telegram does not treat that as one message. Confirmation here does not deduplicate. Watch the “recorded” reply.
Clear coffee without a button
A clear “coffee 80” saves without a button. So “Record it?” is not a product religion, but a filter for weak and voice cases. The person still reads what the bot replied.
Limits
- Does not protect you from a wrong draft you confirmed yourself.
- Does not protect you from a second identical text coffee.
