Start a trip chat, not “add friends into the family”
New Telegram group, bot @galkkabot, “friends” mode. Galka asks for the country and the names on the trip. The family nest does not move here: friends mode has no home accounts, rent plans, or day limit.
Who paid for whom
“Masha covered lodging 240 lari” puts the payer in the phrase. A bare spend without a name opens the question of who paid. “For everyone” splits evenly among the people you named as trip members. Galka does not read a receipt from the camera.
Currencies on the route
Lari, baht, euros can live in one tab. Each row keeps the purchase currency. This is trip accounting, not an exchange desk.
The tally and “we’re settled”
“Settle us up” gathers who owes whom. Closing the tab is “we’re settled” or the button after the tally: open debts for this trip are marked closed. There is no separate “I owe you 12 of 40” button — either a new clear phrase, or close the whole tab.
Wrong payer
Before confirmation, rewrite the phrase with the right name. After a save — reverse and a new row. There is no separate command to “change the payer on the old row.”
What Galka does not do
Not a bank, not magical tip-splitting, not paper-receipt OCR, not family must-pays. Without a Telegram network the message never reaches the bot.
After the hostel, people ask
Is this a family budget?
No. Friends mode has no nest, home pockets, or day limit. Only a tab: who covered whom.
Will she split a receipt photo?
No. Names and amounts belong in the message. “For everyone” means equal shares among chat members.
How do we end the trip?
Ask for the tally, check the debts, say “we’re settled.” That closes the tab; it does not delete history.
Partial payback with one button?
There is no separate “pay 12 of 40.” Either a new clear entry, or close open debts in full.
